COMPUTER SCIENCE at the OC TECH LAB!
Computer science is a vital skill that needs to be introduced and implemented at a young age in order to instill a sense of excitement about computers, robotics and programming. This year the OC TECH Lab is mainstreaming computer science into our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade technology programs. All students will learn the fundamental concepts of programming using web-based software such as CODE.org, Tynker and Kodable. Our little computer scientists will then use what they have learned to tackle hands-on programming challenges using our brand new dash robots, which are due to arrive just before CS Education Week (a special thank you to the Ocean City PTA for supplying our students with robots). Check out our computer science happenings below!

Concepts we have learned...
Using what we have learned...
Students will apply their newly acquired knowledge to tackle a variety of robotics challenges using Dash (pictured left). Our programmers will see their code come to life as Dash whips, spins, flashes, and responds the way they programmed him to. The smiles and excitement sparked by robotics programming are contagious. Programming allows students to be come real-world persistent problem solvers.
